50 auto drivers join CITU
Khammam: As many as 50 auto drivers of Khammam One Town joined Central India Trade Union (CITU) under the leadership of 30th Division Corporator Afroz Sameena and MA Jabbar here at Bommana Centre in Khammam on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, State vice-president of All India Road Transport Workers Federation (AIRTWF) Upendar said both the State and Central governments were adopting anti-worker policies.
“The CITU is striving for the betterment of working sections across the nation and is fighting against the anti-worker policies of the State and Central governments. All working sections must fight in unison for their rights,” he appealed.
He demanded the government to establish a Welfare Board for the auto workers for their betterment. Anand Bhavan Centre Auto Workers Union president Balaji and Secretary Upendar, Madar, Suresh, Srinu and Nageshwar Rao were some of the members who joined CITU along with others.
