Construction of 2BHKs: Officials told to draft comprehensive plan

Bhongir: State Housing Special Chief Secretary Chitra Ramachandran suggested the engineers to work in tandem to speed up construction of 2BHK houses.

On Wednesday, Ramachandran along with District Collector Anita Ramachandran conducted a review meeting on progress of construction of 2BHK houses in Jangaon and Yadadri districts with Panchayath Raj officials, engineers of Roads and Buildings department and the contractors of two districts.

Addressing them, Chitra Ramachandran advised them to prepare a comprehensive plan to expedite the construction works of double bedroom houses that got administrative sanctions from the government. She warned officials that dereliction in duties would not be tolerated at any cost.

Stating that in some districts, works of 2 BHKs were completed by 60 per cent, the Special Chief Secretary advised the officials to go for G+1 and G+2 building construction wherever there was a shortage of land. Advising the officials to take Kamareddy and Errabelly as role models, she further advised the Collector to conduct frequent meetings with engineers and contractors to complete the proposed 2BHKs. As part of the tour, she inspected works of 2BHK houses at Singannagudem in Bhongir mandal.

Joint Collector Ravi Naik, DRO Mahender Reddy, Chief Engineer of Housing department Suraj Kumar, RDO Bhoopal Reddy, R&B, Panchyath Raj officials of Jangaon and Yadadri districts took part in the meeting.
