Cows worshipped at Yadadri goshala
Yadadri: A special puja was performed to the cows in the Yadadri goshala on Tuesday on the occasion of Kanuma festival. Amid chanting of hymns by priests, Yadadri Temple Development Authority vice-chairman Kishan Rao and Executive Officer Geetha Reddy gave Harathi and performed other rituals.
Speaking on the occasion, Geetha Reddy informed that decorating domestic animals, especially those involved in agriculture, was an age-old tradition of Kanuma festival and added as per the Hindu mythologies, praying cow was nothing but praying all the Gods of Hindu religion.
She urged the people to protect the cows and donate some part of amount to goshalas. Similarly, farmers across the erstwhile Nalgonda district celebrated Kanuma on a grand note.
