Two cops suspended for nexus with sand mafia
Mahbubnagar: Two police personals in Mahbubnagar were suspended for hand in glove with sand mafia and encouraging transportation of sand illegally in the district. After learning about the allegations of illegal activities of two police persons, Superintendent of Police B Anuradha ordered an inquiry into the alleged nexus between the police personals and the sand mafia.
The SP directed an enquiry into the activities of constable Raghavender Reddy and a home guard Prasad, both working at rural police station, after collecting vital proofs of the alleged nexus between the two police personnel and the sand mafia. The SP immediately initiated disciplinary action and suspended both the cops. While initiating the suspension orders the SP said, “We have got enough proof against these two police personnel for dereliction of their duties and acting hand in glove with the sand mafia.
We will not spare anyone doing illegal and corrupt activities and stringent action will be initiated against them.” Ever since Anuradha took charge as SP of Mahbubnagar district, she has been taking various steps and measures to strengthen policing in the district. Particularly, the SP wants to cleanse the police department first and if any allegations were found against the police personnel, the SP is initiating detailed inquiry to establish the facts and taking stringent action against them.
“There are some employees in the department who feel doing corrupt and illegal activity is their right. Because of this, many others are facing problems. We will not spare such persons in the department and will stake stringent action against such persons,” warned the SP.
