HACA buys 550 tonnes of red gram
Nagarjunasagar: The Hyderabad Agricultural Cooperative Association (HACA) has been purchasing red gram from farmers in Nalgonda district for the last many days. In this connection, it has established purchasing centres at Nalgonda, Chandur, Kondamallepally and Halia agriculture markets.
As per official information, so far, 5,500 quintals of the produce have been purchased by HACA by paying a Minimum Support Price of Rs 5,450 per quintal, including bonus of Rs 250. On Wednesday, District Marketing Officer Aleem inspected the red gram purchasing centre at Halia agriculture market. After enquiring about the facilities, he interacted with farmers.
He advised the farmers to dry their produce and maintain 12 per cent moisture to get the MSP for their produce. He further informed that farmers must bring Pattadar passbooks, photocopies of bank account details, Aadhaar Card and certificate of cultivation of red gram by respective Village Revenue Officer or Agriculture Extension Officer for the welfare and safety of farmers.
He further informed that red gram was cultivated in 8,000 hectares in the district and about 1.90 lakh quintals of red gram was produced.
