Take part in developmental activities, people urged

Khammam: Explaining about the various development activities taken up by the government, the District Collector, D S Lokesh Kumar, urged the people of all sections to participate in the developmental activities.

He received guard of honour from police personnel after hoisting the national flag on Republic Day at police parade grounds here in Khammam on Friday.Later, the Collector gave away best achievement awards to officials of various departments for discharging their duties perfectly.

Lokesh along with Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal observed the photo exhibition and stalls explaining various types of welfare schemes implemented by different departments in the district.

The tableaux of various departments such as agriculture, medical and health, forest, welfare, handloom and textile industries grabbed the attention of many. Cultural programmes and dance performances by students of various educational institutions attracted the participants. 

The Collector distributed tri-cycles to the disabled persons on the occasion. Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, City Mayor Dr Papa Lal, District Chief Justice M Lakshman, City Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Jha, Joint-Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, District Revenue Officer J Shivasrinivasulu, DRDA Project Director V Muralidhar Rao, District Education Officer D Vasanti, Rural Development Officer Purnachandra and police officials were present along with others.
