Update: 2018-01-30 06:03 IST

Nagarkurnool: The Nagarkurnool MLA, Marri Janardhan Reddy, challenged BJP senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy and called for a debate on the development of the district during TRS regime and during his (Nagam’s) tenure.

While addressing a press conference here on Monday, Janardhan Reddy said that he came into politics to serve the people of Nagarkurnool and not to earn like his previous predecessor Nagam. “Unlike earlier congress and TDP governments, who have done nothing for the district, in just a span of three and half years we brought irrigation water to entire Nagarkurnool district.

If Nagam Janardhan Reddy has any guts, let him come for a debate am ready to face him,” said Marri Janardhan Reddy, while taking a jibe at Nagam’s attitude to create hurdles in the way of development.  Marri Janardha Reddy went on to say that if Nagam can prove that the people of Nagarkurnool district are not happy then he is ready to shun politics once for all.

Reddy said that during Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s period as the district minister, there were many scams. “There were allegations against Nagam for selling PDS rice. Let Nagam come out clean how he was able to amass so many valuable properties in Kokapet. What were his assets before he came to politics and after?

All these years he has amassed so many properties and money, why not he come out and spent it for the welfare of the people,” he questioned. Nagarkurnool MLA challenged Nagam to come to Umamaheshwaram temple in Achámpet for an open debate on development and let him prove that there is no development and he would resign from politics once for all.
