Rally held to promote reading books

Khammam: The government is determined for upgradation of libraries present across the State, said Chairman of the Libraries Department Md Qamar, while inaugurating a rally, ‘Library Bata’ here in Khammam on Wednesday.  

The students of various educational institutions along with book lovers participated in the rally. Speaking on the occasion, Qamar said the main aim of the rally was to motivate people towards reading books and make at least one member of a family takes library membership besides visiting the libraries on a regular basis.

Stating that State government has been stocking books for students and jobless youth, especially books for preparing for competitive examinations, he informed that for the last three years, many unemployed persons who prepared for competitive examinations reading the books available in the libraries had successfully faced the examinations besides grabbing the government jobs.

“After the formation of Telangana, the TRS government took all necessary measures for developing libraries and provided with all essential books required for every section of people,” he added. He urged students, book lovers and unemployed youth to utilise the opportunity by visiting to libraries regularly. Libraries Department Secretary V Ravi Kumar, Assistant Librarian R Nagamma, J Bhaskar, SL Yakub and Anitha were present along with others.
