Temple to be opened today
Bhadrachalam: On account of Lunar Eclipse, the religious activities came to a standstill at the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple here on Wednesday. The priests and the temple staff closed main doors of the temple.
On this occasion, the Chief Priest of the temple Podicheti Jaganadha Charyulu said the temple was closed due to the Lunar Eclipse at 10 am to 9.30 pm. After the Samprokshana, Alaya Suddhi and other ritual purification the temple will be opened on Thursday early hours as usually in temple timings said the Chief Priest.
The devotees would be allowed for the darshan of Lord Rama in the temple regular timings on Thursday onwards he said. The Nithya Kalyanam programme would be conducted at temple premises regularly in the mentioned timing, he added.
In the early hours of the day the Sahastra Kalishabhishekam puja programme was conducted in the temple. A special Abhishekam was conducted to the deities and performed special pujas in the temple. The deities were decorated with colourful flowers on account of the special puja programme.
