Awareness programme for ANMs, Asha workers held in Achampet

Nagarkurnool: With an aim to provide proper training and awareness on healthcare services provided by the government, an awareness programme was organised for ANMs, Asha workers and other healthcare staff in Achampet mandal in the  district on Tuesday. This kind of awareness programme for ANMs and Asha workers  was organised for the first time after formation of new district.

As part of the awareness programme, Brahmanand Rao, Chief Executive Officer of GVK along with  District Medical and Health Officer Sudhakar Lal took part and gave their valuable suggestions to the ANMs and Asha workers. More than 300 healthcare workers from across the district participated in the awareness meeting.  

Speaking on the occasion, DM &HO said at present the State government has allocated 37 mini 102 Ambulances under ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme to serve the transportation of pregnant women in the rural areas. 

The main objective of Amma Vodi programme is that no pregnant women residing in the rural areas should be deprived of healthcare facilities and they should be immediately provided ambulance services and enable them to access the hospitals for safe deliveries and get avail the best healthcare services provided by the government.  

“The government is doing its best to provide better medical services to the poor. However, it is important for the public to get aware of these initiatives and utilise these opportunities. For spreading this awareness and other healthcare information, the ANMs, Asha workers and other healthcare staff should play an important role in discriminating the information to the rural folks in the villages,” said Sudhakar lal.  

At present under the Achampet constituency every mandal has an Amma Vodi ambulance. The Amma Vodi ambulances main objective is to bring the pregnant women who are about to deliver to the hospital and later safely drop the mother and baby to their house and all these services are provided free of cost. 

Appraising the initiatives taken up by the government, the GVK CEO said that it gives him immense satisfaction to deliver the corporate social responsibility and help provide ambulance services to the needy people in emergency.
