1,500 crore budget allocation sought for RTC
Khammam: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation Staff & Workers Federation (TSRTC-SWF) State secretary Gaddam Lingamurthy demanded the government to allot Rs 1,500 crore in the budget for the development and expansion of TSRTC.
The representatives of the Federation staged a dharna in front of Khammam bus depot under the leadership of Merugu Ravindranath on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Lingamurthy said instead of taking up agitations under various platforms on a single issue, the RTC employees must fight under one banner i.e., through Telangana Mazdoor Union.
He demanded the government to release pending amount of Rs 625 crore to the RTC immediately besides allotting Rs 1,500 crore in the budget, for the expansion of Corporation. He also sought the government to reconsider the salaries with 75 per cent fitment for the all the employees.
Representatives of the Federation Yerramshetti Venkateshwarlu, Gundu Madhava Rao, Pittal Sudhakar, D Ramesh, Guggula Gopaiah, Sudgani Ramulu, Bhagya Lakshmi, Sridevi, Saritha, Ram, G Prabhakar Rao, Nazeer and Chary were present along with others.
