Cong blowing Srinivas murder issue out of proportion: TRS
Nagarjunasagar: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy fired salvos on Congress top brass leaders over their ‘irresponsible’ role in developing their constituencies and Telangana region during their regime. Addressing a public meeting at Yerrabelli village in Nagarjunasagar on Thursday, the Minister mocked CLP leader Jana Reddy and stated that as a politician, Jana was made Minister with 18 portfolios, but he failed to develop Nagarjunasagar in his capacity.
Alleging that the Congress leaders intentionally filed cases against proposed irrigation projects in the State, the Energy Minister informed that all households in the State would get drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha without fail in a short span.
“Earlier, the farmers used to make serpentine queues for buying seeds and pesticides and used to spend sleepless nights for electricity for watering plants. But now, the situation has completely changed as the farmers are getting required seed and pesticides comfortably and also round-the-clock power,” he said.
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been planning to bring Godavari water to Sagar left canal via Peddadevula Pally to address the irrigation issues of the respective ayacut farmers, Jagadish informed that the government had constituted the Farmer Coordination Committees to help farmers get the desired Minimum Support Price for their produce besides providing an aid of Rs 8,000 per annum per acre to bail out farmers from financial crisis.
The Minister criticised the Congress leaders over murder of Boddupallly Srinivas. He said everyone were aware that Srinivas murder took place over a petty issue and the Congress leaders were blowing the issue out of proportion to gain political mileage. In another programme held at Tripuram mandal in Sagar constituency, the Minister distributed Kalyana Laxmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques to the beneficiaries.
