Mahila Cong slams TRS for not keeping poll promises
Khammam: Coming down heavily on Telangana Rashtra Samithi, District Mahila Congress president Bandi Mani alleged that the pink party failed to keep its promises and was cheating people with saccharine-coated words.
Speaking at a meeting held with the representatives of District Mahila Congress here at Congress Party office in Khammam on Friday, Bandi Mani said the ‘Mahila Garjana Sabha’ held under Telangana Mahila Congress in Vanaparthi of Mahabubnagar district on February 5, was a huge hit. The public representatives of the Congress party from all corners of the State attended the meeting in large numbers and made it a huge success, she added.
She alleged that the TRS was making hollow promises and deceiving the people and women of Telangana. “It promised of regularising the services of SERP employees the moment it came to power. However, it cheated the employees by not fulfilling their just demand,” she said.
It further boasted of sanctioning funds for the construction of DWACRA buildings at panchayat and mandal levels to help Self Help Groups (SHG) conduct meetings. But, the government is yet to initiate the works in this regard, she criticised.
“To encourage women entrepreneurs, the TRS party promised that it will allot special funds of about Rs 500 crore. For the welfare of farming sector, it said it will form societies with women for processing and distribution of food grains. However, these are yet to get wings,” she added. All the promises made by the TRS party would be fulfilled by the Congress after coming to power in 2019, she assured. Mahila Congress members Thotakuri Shoba Rani, Bandi Rama and Parimi Anantha Lakshmi were present along with others.
