Mid-day meal workers intensify agitation

Kothagudem: Intensifying their protest, the workers of mid-day meals staged a dharna at Collectorate on Friday. It may be recalled that the workers are up in arms against the government over appointing Akshayapatra Foundation, an NGO, replacing their services in all 245-odd government schools in Kothagudem Assembly constituency. 

The rally was led by the CITU leaders. Meanwhile, a tiff ensued between the police and workers. The police could finally bundle the demonstrators into a waiting van and lodged them at the police station.
