Vice-Sarpanch killed in bomb blast, wife’s role suspected
Nagarjunasagar: In a brutal incident, a local Congress leader and vice-Sarpanch of Chinthalapalem gram Panchayat in Nagarjunasagar was killed in a bomb blast, which was placed by unknown persons under his cot.
According to sources, the body parts of Dharma Naik, (45), were strewn due to the impact of the blast, that took place on Monday midnight.
The Thirumalagiri mandal police, after receiving the information, rushed to the spot and collected the evidences besides shifting the body parts to Nagarjunasagar area hospital for autopsy.
Police suspected that old feuds and family disputes with Naik’s second wife Shirisha could be reason behind his murder. Naik is survived by first wife and two children.
Meanwhile, Miryalaguda DSP Srinivas Rao visited the spot and inquired about the murder.
As a precautionary measure, a large number of police were deployed in the village.
On complaint of first wife of deceased, SI Kurmaiah registered a case and took up the investigation.
