Devotees throng Siva temples

Kothagudem: Huge rush of devotees was witnessed in Lord Siva temples across the district on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri on Tuesday. In the district, temples in Annapureddy Pally, Palvoncha, Kothagudem, Yellandhu and Bhadrachalam mandals were decorated with colourful lamps on account of Maha Sivaratri day. 

Priests conducted special pujas, abhishekams and maha rudrabhishekams in those temples. On account of Maha Sivaratri, the devotees took holy dip in the river Godavari in Bhadrachalam in the early hours of the day. 

The devotees gathered in large numbers on the banks of the Godavari. The temples in the district organised SivaKalyanam on the occasion. District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and  Aswaropet ML A T Venkateswarlu conducted special pujas at Annapureddypally Sivalayam on the occasion.
