Uttam seeks 24X7 power supply for irrigation projects
Huzurnagar: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has demanded round-the-clock free power supply to all lift irrigation schemes in the State. On Tuesday, after attending a puja at Mellacheruvu Shiva temple, he visited Amaravaram Lift Irrigation Scheme in his constituency and examined its functioning.
Addressing the farmers, he said, Amaravaram scheme, which was his brainchild and constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 48 crore, was providing irrigation facility to about 4,900 acres in Huzurnagar constituency.
Reiterating that Congress would come to power in 2019 elections, he informed that Congress government would waive farmers loans up to Rs 2 lakh besides providing a Minimum Support Price of Rs 2,000, 6,000, 10,000 to paddy, cotton and chillies, respectively.
Uttam also promised the farmers of paying the premium of crop insurance to protect farmers in all aspects. Matampally ZPTC Neela Manjula Naik, Huzurnagar ZPTC Nizamuddin, Sarpanches Picchi Reddy, Laxmi Srinivas, former Sarpanch Adireddy, party local leaders and farmers accompanied the Congress chief.
