Bhadradri gearing up for Brahmotsavam
Kothagudem: The famous historical Bhadradri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple is gearing up for Brahmotsavams and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam celebrations. The celebrations will commence after Telugu New Year (Ugadi) in Vilambi nama samvastaram and Brahmotsavams will start from March 18, Sita Rama Kalyanam will be held on March 26, and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam is on March 27.
Temple chief priest Podicheti Jagannadha Charyulu speaking to The Hans India said on the day of Kalyanam, Punarvasu Deeksha, also called as Sri Rama Deeksha, will start. The Nithya Kalyanam, a regular programme in the temple premises, will not be conducted from March 22 to April 1. According to the chief priest, Garudadri sevanam will be held on March 22, Edurkollu celebrations on 25, Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam (Sri Rama Navami) on 26, Sri Rama Pattabhishekam on March 27.
There will be sadasayam, Unjal seva, Vasanthotsavam, and Chakra Snanam will be performed on the last day of the celebrations, i.e., on April 1 at River Godavari.This year Sri Rama Kalyanam is important since Vilambi year is the birth year of Lord Rama, the priest said. After 1958, again the day came this year. This day is also importance because participating in Sri Rama Kalyanam is equal to watching Maha Samraj Pattabhishekarm, which will come once in 60 years, he explained.
Along with engineering department staff, Temple Executive Officer K Prabhakar Srinivas on Thursday inspected Mithila Stadium, where the Kalyanam and Pattabhishekam will be organised. He discussed planning arrangements, dividing sectors and stadium places with the officials. He also inspected temple surrounding areas along with Executive Engineers Dayakar Reddy and Deputy Executive Engineer V Ravinder.
District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu called for a meeting on February 17 with all district officers to discuss arrangements to be made for the devotees coming from neighbouring states also. The Collector will discuss security arrangements at the temple town keeping in view of visit by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao along with family, ministers and other VIPs. Superintendent Amber Kishore Jha will discuss the security measurements for the VIP and devotees.
