TRS members join Congress
Khammam: Congress district president Aitham Satyam stated that many people across the country were evincing interest in joining the grand old party under the active leadership of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi.
As many as 100 families from 39, 40 and 43 Divisions of the Khammam city joined the Congress party under the leadership of Shankar Goud and Mallewshwari and in the presence of MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, former MLC Potal Nageshwar Rao here in Khammam on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Satyam said these were the last days for TRS party as many from the pink party were joining the Congress. “The TRS leaders are disappointed with the ruling party and its government for not fulfilling poll promises and for adopting ‘anti-people’ policies. Many of them are showing interest to join Congress party which had given the separate Statehood status for Telangana,” he informed.
In 2019 elections, the Congress party is going to come power both at the Centre and in the State, and the Rahul Gandhi was become the next Prime Minister, he predicted. The newly-joined members must strive for strengthening the Congress party, he urged.
Congress party leaders Chota Baba, Vaddeboina Manohar Naidu, Raparthi Sharath, Bandi Mani, Isaac, Venula Srinu, Qadeer, Johny and Gangadar were present along with others.
