Shoba Yatra held
Bhadrachalam: Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam took out Shoba Yatra with the festival deities of Lord Rama here on Wednesday.
The Yatra was took out as part of the special pujas performed to the legendary bird Jatayu at Jatayu Mandapam in Yetpaka village in East Godavari district, which is near to Bhadradri temple town.
The priests took out the festival deities, beautifully decorated with various flowers, on a special vehicle on the main roads of the temple town in the early hours of the day, amidst vedic chanting. Devotees raised slogans ‘Jai Sri Rama’.
Later, special puja was performed to Jatayu on the specially raised stage and Sri Rama Kalyanam was performed. Devotees in large numbers attended the programme.
Temple Executive Officer K Prabhakar Srinivas, Asthana Charya K Sthala Sai, Chief Priest P Janaganath Cahryulu, co-chief priest P Sitha Ramama, priests A Gopala Krishanama Charyulu and Vishnu Vardhan participated in the programme.
