19,167 to take SSC exams in Khammam

Khammam: With the SSC exams just a fortnight away, the District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials concerned to make perfect arrangements for the smooth conduct of exams in the district. The Collector chaired a review meeting with officials of departments concerned here at his chambers in the Collectorate in Khammam on Thursday.

Addressing the officials, the Collector said about 19,167 students were going to take SSC examinations, of which, about 18,428 were regular students and remaining 739 were appearing in private. Stating that 88 examination centres for regular students and four for private students were identified, the Collector asked the officials to make tight security arrangements at the exam centres. “Printing shops must be closed, and Section 144 must be imposed around the centres,” Lokesh Kumar directed.

The Collector further ordered the police to provide tight security during transportation of question papers and answer sheets by preparing a perfect route map well in advance. “The invigilators and other officials must not carry mobiles phones to the examinations centres. The Deputy Tahsildars must be appointed as flying squads to carry out sudden inspection,” the Collector suggested.

He asked the officials to provide all necessary arrangements like fans, furniture, drinking water facility along with supplying uninterrupted power during examinations and temporary medical camps in case of emergency. “Utilise the services of women police personnel for inspecting girl students, along with women invigilators, ANMs and ASHA workers,” advised the Collector.

District Revenue Officer J Srinivas, District Education Officer Madan Mohan and the officials of departments concerned attended the meeting.
