ATMs run out of cash;CPM complains to banks
Khammam: CPM district leader Yerra Srinivas Rao alleged that people were facing hardships due to non-availability of cash in ATM centres present across the Khammam city. In this regard, party leaders after staging a dharna, under the leadership of T Lingaiah, submitted a representation to Manager of the State Bank of India, requesting him to take steps for solving the issue, in Khammam on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said the bank officials must take necessary steps for depositing cash in the ATM centres besides keeping sufficient amount in their respective banks for the convenience of people.
They informed that for the last few days, many people including business persons were facing lot of hardships due to non-availability of cash in ATM centres and in certain banks. “No-Cash boards are seen at many ATM centres across the city. What is the use of ATM centres and banks when they do not work according to the convenience of customers?” he questioned.
“Moreover, this is the marriage season and people will be in need of money for making arrangements. But to their disappointment many ATM centres do not have money and are seen with ‘no-cash’ boards,” he alleged. He further criticised that after the decision of demonetisation, the Central government had not taken up any measures by depositing sufficient of money in the banks. Instead of working of the welfare of the people, the Centre was determined to create problems to people.
Party leaders B Yakub, S K Babu, B Veera Babu, S Sudheer Kumar, B Ramana Reddy, D Ravi, S Veerababu, DYFI leaders S Papa Rao and Sudharshan were present along with others.
