CPI demands cut in property tax

Bhadrachalam: Demanding reduction of property taxes, the Communist Party of India activists staged a dharna at major gram panchayat here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, CPI leader Tambala Venkateswara Rao demanded the government provision of Godavari tap connection without ‘No Objection Certificate’ to the people of temple town. He also appealed to the government to make special arrangement to provide drinking water to all colonies in Bhadrachalam in the coming summer. 

Before staging the dharna, party workers took out a rally on the main roads of the temple town, raising slogans against the district officials. Party leaders A Sunil, Suresh Naidu and others participated in the programme.
