Farmers pour out woes during Grievance Day
Kothagudem: District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanmanthu on Monday called upon the district officials to examine the issues raised by participants during the Praja Darbar (Grievance Day), a grievance redressal programme to find solutions to problems faced by people at field level.
Speaking after receiving representations on the Grievance Day, the Collector directed the officials who attended the daylong proceedings to be prepared with complete information and adhere to time schedule in addressing the issues raised at the programme. The officials who received petitions from the people were asked to take special interest in clearing each issue.
The Collector said that a large number of petitions by people from Kothagudem, Palvoncha, Aswaraopet and Chandrogonda were related land issues. He also directed the officials to take care the clearance of land issues with the coordination of the concerned officers.
Every petition, after the clearance, should be uploaded in the government portal, and if not uploaded, it would be considered as not cleared, he added. He received petitions from the people and after endorsing them, distributed to the concerned officials during the programme.
After the programme, he conducted a review meeting with the Rural Development officials. He asked the department officials to speed up the construction works of individual toilets under Swachh Bharath programme. He directed the officials to encourage people for the construction individual toilets in their houses.
The government sanctioned more funds for constructing individual toilets under the Swachh Bharath programme, he added. District Rural Development Project Director P Jagath Kumar Reddy, District Revenue Officer Kiran Kumar, Revenue Divisional Officer Kiran Kumar and other officers participated in the programme.
