Govt not serious about irrigation projects: CPI
Nalgonda: CPI State deputy secretary Palla Venkat Reddy stated that the State government has no commitment towards irrigation projects. On Tuesday, he attended as chief guest to the party two-day district level meetings, being held at Nalgonda. Addressing the gathering, Venkat Reddy said the government enacting the irrigation drama to betray innocent people of the State, and so far, thousands of crores of public money was wasted in the name of building and redesigning of irrigation projects.
Stating that government has cheated the people with Dindi and Nakkalagandi lift irrigation projects, the CPI leader informed that as many as Rs 5,600 crore were gained by Andhra contractors. “Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been showing step-motherly attitude towards the south Telangana. Ignoring all projects, government is paying special attention to Kaleshwaram Project,” he alleged.
He further questioned the State government over debts and income of the State. “The State government is planning for another big scam in the name of Farmer Coordination Committees,” he alleged, adding that Chief Minister lacked vision and practical thinking. By joining the hands with like-minded parties and organisations, the CPI would fight for peoples’ problems, he said.
Party State leaders Adi Reddy, Ratnakar Rao, party district secretary Palla Narsimha Reddy, Nellikanti Satyam, Palla Devender Reddy and large number of party workers attended the meeting.
