Collector reviews arrangements for Pulse Polio
Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar on Monday urged the parents to ensure that their children below five years are administered vaccine without fail during the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme, to be held on March 11 here.
The Collector chaired a meeting with the officials of departments concerned t at Zilla Parishad Conference hall here to review the arrangements for the programmes.
Speaking at the meeting, the Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to make all arrangements for organising the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme successfully across the district. He said on March 11 the vaccine will be administered at Pulse polio centres that are identified along with temporary camps to be established at railway stations and RTC bus stands and on March 12 and 13 teams will visit every household to administer vaccine.
About 1.26 lakhs of children are identified who are below five years across the district. As many as 3,872 personnel will be deployed to administer vaccines. The Collector directed the Khammam Municipal Corporation staff to help the personnel administer vaccine to children in slum areas.
The District Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, the City Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Jha, District Revenue Officer J Shiva Srinivas, Rural Development Officer Purnachander Rao, the District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Kondal Rao, District Rural and Development Agency Project Director V Muralidhar Rao, Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Sathyanarayana, District Public Relation Officer M Srinivas Rao, District Panchayati Officer Srinivas Reddy and Divisional Engineer of Electricity department Madan Mohan were present along with others.
