One slain Maoist identified
Bhadrachalam: Of the ten Maoists, who died in an encounter, the relatives identified the body of one Maoist, D Swamy from Warangal. The police handed over the body to the relatives here on Monday.
The Greyhounds, an anti-Naxal force, on Friday swooped on the camp of Maoists near Pujari Kanker in Bijapur district, as a part of a joint operation with the Chhattisgarh Police. Ten Maoists, including six women, were killed in the early morning operation in which one grey hound constable also died.
The bodies were shifted to Government Area Hospital in Bhadrachalam for post-mortem and identification. The remaining nine bodies were kept in mortuary for identification.
The bodies will be handed over to the relatives as per the clues, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt.
