Tension palpable on Telangana-Chhattisgarh border

 Khammam: An uneasy calm is prevailing, but the tension palpableon the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, especially in agency areas of Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem, areas followingseries of encounters between the police and Communist Party of India-Moist.

After the formation of separate Telangana State, more than 20 members of Maoists were so far killed in four encounters during the last four years. Two members of Maoists party Shruti and Sagar diedin encounter Moddugutta of Rangapuram village in 2015.

About nine members of Maoists belonging to CPI(ML)-CP-Bata were killed in Medamadugu encounter in the year 2017. About 10 members of Maoists were killed in another encounter at Pujarekanked forests few days ago.

With the death of 10 Maoists in recent encounter, the Maoist suffered a huge loss. According to sources in theIntelligence Department, due to huge loss of about 11 members, including the Special Zone Committee member Dadaboina Swamy alias Prabhakar, in the encounter recently at Pujarekanked Gutta, the Maoist party may take revenge by resorting to sudden attacks.

In a letter released by the Maoist party official spokesperson Jagan, it is learnt that the Maoist party is ready to take revenge and target the TRS government and its leaders, besides police personnel.

On the other side, the police officials of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpalli and Mahabubabad districts alerted the police officials, including VVIPs, and deployed forces along with tightening the security on the borders.

They also issued the safety precautions to the Ministers, MPs and MLAs of ruling party and warned them not to attend any programme in remote areas without giving information to the police department.

Meanwhile, the people living in the villages at Telangana- Chhattisgarh border of Pujarekanked, Bheemaram, Kasturipadu, Rampuram, Chinna Utlapalli and Pedda Utlapalli left their villages and migrated to other regions in fear.
