2nd round of pulse polio Conduct rallies in villages
Kothagudem: All the officials of various departments should cooperate and coordinate with those of health department to make the second-round pulse polio immunisation programme a big success, Joint Collector M Ram Kishan said.
In a review meeting held here on Tuesday with the medical officers of the district, he further said that everyone should participate in the three-day pulse polio programme in the district, which will commence from March 11. The JC suggested the officials to give wide publicity to the polio drive in villages. The medical officials were told to support all the sarpanches and ward members in giving door-to-door publicity in villages.
They were also directed to identify children between the age group of 0-5 years and administer polio drops to all of them without fail. The JC suggested to conduct rallies in towns and villages to give publicity to the programme. District Immunisation Officer Dr Bhaskar Naik informed that 38 mobile teams will conduct the pulse polio drive in 938 centres in 23 mandals in the district.
Health staff, Asha workers and members of voluntary organisations will participate in the programme and polio centres will be set up at main roads, bus stands, railway stations and primary health centres in the district. District Revenue officer Kiran Kumar, Program Officer Dr Ram Kumar and officials of other departments attended the meeting.
