Notorious thief held, 2.45 lakh booty recovered
Miryalaguda: Miryalaguda police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested the notorious inter-district thief Ramavath Ravi, and recovered Rs 2.45 lakh worth of gold and silver ornaments from his possession. Producing the accused before the media at a media meet in Miryalaguda, DSP Srinivas said Ravi was a native of Kunkuducheetu thanda underPedddavoora mandal and by profession he was a mobile phone technician.
He became slave to luxuries and started stealing. He targeted locked houses and also stole computers and cell phones in major towns and mandals in the district, the DSP said. He committed 31 burglaries at the tender age of 24. Earlier, he was awarded jail sentencefor stealing of computers under Two Town police station limits, he said.
He hadcontinued to indulge in activities after releasing from jail. On Tuesday, on reliable information, town police caught offender Ravi red-handed, while he was taking loan against gold at local MuthootFinance company and recovered Rs 2.45 lakhs worth of either tolas gold , eight tolas silver and tools using for stealing from his possession. Srinivas saidPreventive Detention Act would be invokedagainst the accused.
