CPM stages protest against attack on party leaders, cadre
Khammam: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Nunna Nageshwar Rao here on Wednesday felt that those, who attacked the communists, would perish in the course of time.
The CPI-M activists burnt an effigy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS in protest against the demolition of the statues Lenin in Tripura. The protest was held here at Bose Centre on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nageshwar Rao alleged that the BJP party by employing its political power had won in Tripura. He said the it had spent crores of rupees illegally and undemocratically. He said none can stop the Communists from forging ahead. Behaving like goondas, the leaders of BJP and RSS entered forcible into the CPI-M party office in Tripura and attacked the party leaders, besides demolishing the Lenin and Dr B R Ambedkar statues, he added.
Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is one of the greatest leaders who was in power for over 25 years in Tripura. The BJP party had played cheap tricks and using its political and money power had won the elections, he said.
He demanded that the government arrest those responsible for demolishing of Lenin and Ambedkar Statues.
The CPI-M party leaders Y Srikanth, Y Srinivas Rao, T Lingaiah, B Yakaiah, V Srinivas Rao, Y Gopi, S K Babu, Veera Babu, P Naga Sulochana, Bhukya Srinivas, A Venkanna, S K Qasim, Ravi, Peddaji Upendra Chary, Veerabhadram, P Sathyanarayana, Meenala Mallikarjuna Rao, A Shankar, G Suri Babu and Hemla Naik were present.
