CPM warns of agitation
Khammam: City Secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), S K Meer Saheb said here on Monday the people living in surrounding areas of the dumping yard at Dhanvaigudem are facing lot of hardships and demanded that the government shift it immediately.
The representatives of the CPI-M Two Town Committee submitted a memorandum to the District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar on the occasion of Grievance Day organised here at Collectorate. Speaking on the occasion, Meer Saheb said that the people living in surrounding areas of dumping yard took ill polluted air and smoke emanating from the dumping yard.
He accused the government of turning a deaf ear to the pleas by the people. He demanded that the government shift the dumping yard immediately. If the government failedremedial measures, the CPI-M party along with the people living in surrounding colonies of dumping yard would organise a ‘Mahadharna’ and rasta roko at Raparthinagar centre on March 17, he warned.
The CPI-M party leaders Narra Ramesh, Burri Venkat Kumar, Battini Upendar, G Balaji, K Gurumurthy, Upendar Naik and Nagamani were present along with others.
