Paralegal volunteers urged to serve needy

Khammam: District Chief Judge and the Chairman of the District Legal Cell Authority M Lakshman here on Friday advised the paralegal volunteers to act like mediators between the people and Legal Cell Authority (LCA). He was a chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Paralegal Volunteers Training classes held at ‘Nyaya Seva Sadhan’ here.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Chief Judge said that to give free legal services to the people, who cannot afford to hire a lawyer, the paralegal volunteers should help them. Special training was given to about 34 members by selecting them as paralegal volunteers across the district by the District Legal Cell Authority. 

 He also said that is equal before law irrespective of caste, creed and gender, besides rich and poor. Every citizen of India has equal rights. He exhorted the paralegal volunteers to acquire knowledge and guide the needy.

The paralegal volunteers should hand over the details of their services to the record room of Legal Cell Authority. By rendering better service to the people, the paralegal volunteers should bring good name to the Khammam Legal Cell Authority. One paralegal volunteer, who will render a better service, will be selected for National Legal Cell Authority every year, he said.

Later, the District Chief Judge handed over the certificates to about 34 members of paralegal volunteers who successfully completed their training. The advocate of the Legal Cell Authority Vinod Kumar explained the details of the training that was given to paralegal volunteers to the District Chief Judge.
