Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose on Friday laid the foundation stone for the construction of Employees Wellness Centre on the District Collectorate premises. The main objective of the Wellness Centre is to provide all necessary medical facilities for the government employees, retired employees and their family members, including diagnostic services.

While speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the government employees, while discharging their duties, were neglecting to take care of their health. They continued to undergo physical and intense mental stress, resulting in majority of them becoming hypertensive and diabetic.

“Most of the employees while discharging their duties neglect their health and because of constant work pressure and other mental tensions the employees tend to lack physical and mental rest and get contracted with various diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes due to increased sugar levels in their bodies. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the government to protect the health of its employees.

In view of this, the government had decided to set up an exclusive healthcare Wellness Centre that will cater to the healthcare needs of the employees,” said Ronald Rose. The Collector assured employees that the construction work of the Wellness Centre would soon begin and take all measures to equip the centre with all kinds of advanced medical equipment and other healthcare facilities to cater to the needs of patients.

The Collector said the government had already allocated Rs 49 lakh as grant for its construction and very soon the Wellness Centre would be operational.  Along with district collector, District Revenue Officer (DRO) Venkateshwarlu and members of various Employees Unions and others took part.
