Women play key role in farming: Govt Whip
Yadagirigutta: Government Whip and Aler MLA Gongidi Sunitha here on Friday said the women were playing a key role in agriculture sector. She was attending as a chief guest inrural women empowerment meeting organised by the Peace organisation at MPDO office in Yadagirigutta.
Addressing the gathering, she said as many as 70 percent of women in the State are working in agriculture sector, but men are enjoying the benefits. Empowerment of rural women can be achieved by issuing the Pattadar Passbooks in the name of women , she felt.
Even though women have been achieving success in all fields on a par with men, women are not getting the proper respect from the society , she added. She listed out the various welfare measures being taken by the State government to make the agriculture a profitable sector.
Peace organisation director Nimmaiah suggested thatthe government take necessary measures to provide irrigation for barren lands. In this program MPP Swapna, ZPTC Kamalamma, sarpanch SWamy , AD Agricuture Himavathi, Agriculture Officer Madavi, MPDO Sambashicva Rao and others participated.
