AIDWA to highlight women’s issues at CPM meeting in Khammam
Khammam: District secretary of All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) Macharla Bharati alleged that there was lot of discrimination against women in the society and urged women to fight against it.
A meeting was held with the representatives of AIDWA Two Town committee under the leadership of Burri Indira here in Khammam on Monday.
Speaking at the meeting, Bharati said women who used to confine themselves to kitchen were now doing extraordinary works in various fields. Informing that various issues pertaining to women would be taken up for discussion in the national conference going to be held in Hyderabad, she said several movements would be taken up across the country for achieving 33 per cent of reservation for women in all sectors.
There is a lot of discrimination against women in the society. Still, there are many families in the society that desire to have only male babies. Many such issues will be discussed in the national conference of CPM party that is going to be held at Hyderabad from April 8 to 22, she informed.
She urged people to participate in large numbers in the national conference and make it a grand success. State leader of AIDWA Buggaveeti Sarala, representatives S K Bobby, G Sujatha, M Kasturi and Venkatamma were present along with others.
