Telangana SSC paper-1 leak sends officials into a tizzy
Mahbubnagar: The officials of the district Education department were on toes when the news of SSC paper leak broke out in the district. The officials, who immediately swung into action to ascertain the truth, found that English paper-1 of ongoing SSC exams was circulated on WhatsApp, where a picture of the paper surfaced at Atmakur mandal in Wanaparthy district. However, after verifying the details, the officials along with police traced the source of the leakage to Zilla Parishad High School (Girls) in Marikal mandal in the district.
After zeroing in on about the source of leakage, District Education Officer Somi Reddy along with Joint Director, Education Vijay Laxmi and Marikal Circle Inspector (CI) Venkat inspected the ZPHS Marikal centre and took five students and two Physical Education Teachers on suspicion into their custody and launched a thorough inquiry.
“We have traced the source of paper leak to ZPHS Marikal High School (Girls). We took five students and two PETs into custody and investigating in detail about who has exactly conspired and supported such an illegal act. We are also inquiring into the issue from various angles and want to know the possibilities of involvement of teachers and others,” informed DEO Somi Reddy.
Soon after identifying the source of information, the DEO along with police took two persons into custody from whose mobile phones the WhatsApp picture was circulated. Upon further inquiry, the officials also took two private PET teachers, suspected to have supported the leak.
However, teachers of ZPHS Marikal claimed that it must be the act of unknown persons who could have sneaked into school’s compound and took pictures of question paper from the window and circulated to others in Atmakur and Wanaparthy.
“Even though the news of SSC question paper leak is doing rounds, there is no incident of any mass copying seen anywhere either in ZPHS Marikal or at any other places in Atmakur or Wanaparthy. The entire episode is planned to defame the Education department,” felt a source from ZPHS Marikal.
Meanwhile, post the incident, the officials have decided to further strengthen the vigilance at examination centres and give no scope for such incidents again.
