Nalgonda MP urges farmers to make use of Rythu Samithies

Nalgonda: Chairman of the Farmers Coordination Committees and Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy informed that government formed Rythu Samanya Samithies (RSS) to help farmers and make agriculture a profitable sector in the State.

Addressing a press conference in Nalgonda on Monday, Gutha informed that members of RSS render their services to farmers in getting Minimum Support Price to their farm produce.

Along with Agriculture Extension Officers, based on soil test, the RSS would recommend farmers about the crops to be cultivated in respective lands to get good returns, he added.

As part of government free insurance scheme to farmers, insurance of Rs 5 lakh would be provided to 72 lakh farmers in the State, he informed.

He added that RSS teams in coordination with Agriculture line departments would help farmers getting required seeds, pesticides and encourage them towards mechanisation for reaping profits.

The MP further informed that the government has given top priority to farming sector in the budget and allocated Rs 25,000 crore for agriculture and allied sectors. As part of promised financial aid of Rs 8,000 per acre per farmer per year, the State government allocated Rs 12,000 crore in the budget, he informed.

Further the government is planning to establish agro industries in every Assembly constituency in the State, he informed. Telangana State Forest Department Corporation chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Mother Dairy Chairman Gutha Jitender Reddy, MPP Pasham Ram Reddy. TRS party leaders Abbagoni Ramesh, Perika Uma Maheshwar and others participated in the press meet.
