Khammam CP told to step up vigilance in rural areas

Khammam: Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal advised the police officials to keep abreast of changing technologies and develop skills for effective policing.

The Commissioner chaired a review meeting with officials of Khammam rural police on crime, at Mini Special Branch in Khammam on Tuesday.

Addressing the officials, Tafseer Iqbal advised them to motivate people for participating in the ‘Nenu Saitham’ programme for installation of CCTV cameras in their respective colonies.

The Commissioner said CCTV cameras and advanced technology would be highly useful for building a crime-free society. “The crime rate will come down with increase of visible policing. The Station House Officers (SHO’s) must inspect surrounding villages regularly and must establish cordial relations with people. All details of cases must be enrolled in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS),” he said. 

The Commissioner examined the complaints, details of the cases enroled and complaints received from people. He advised the officials to give receipts to people who lodged complaints at the police stations without fail.

Later, the Commissioner handed over mementos to police officials who discharged their duties perfectly. Assistant Commissioner of Police Khammam Rural Naresh Reddy, CCRB Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramanujam, Circle Inspectors Sampath Kumar, Thirupathi Reddy, Sambaraju, Vasanth and Shivasamba Reddy and SHO’s of various police stations attended the review meet.
