Nagam Janardhan Reddy has finally quit BJP
Mahbubnagar: Nagam Janardhan Reddy, one of the senior-most leaders from Nagarkurnool, has finally quit the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday. Nagam, who has more than 35 years of political experience, had served as a cabinet minister in TDP government and had won six times as an MLA from Nagarkurnool constituency.
After the formation of Telangana, he quit the TDP and joined BJP. However, after serving as the BJP National executive member for four years, Nagam expressed his disappointment at the BJP State leadership for not effectively tackling TRS against rampant corruption and loot of public money.
While expressing his disappointment, Nagam mentioned in his resignation that he did not receive adequate support from the State leadership. He even stated that some senior BJP leaders from the State were derailing his efforts to corner ruling TRS government against corruption in Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and various other major lift irrigation projects in the State.
“Though I had joined the BJP with much hope to safe guard the self respect and public interest of Telangana people, I did not receive the support from the State leadership. I am disappointed with this and had no other option but to resign from the party,” stated Nagam in his resignation letter. As anticipated earlier, most likely Nagam is expected to join the Congress party. However, nothing has been confirmed with regard to his future moves.
