DYFI activists stages a unique protest in Khammam
Khammam: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activists staged a unique protest here on Tuesday by performing last rites to ATM centres which have failed to dispense cash.
The representatives of DYFI performed last rites to the ATM centre of the SBI at the Bus Stand road here by inviting a priest to do it in accordance with practice.
Speaking on the occasion, the DYFI district secretary S K Basheer alleged that the Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party government had taken thoughtless decision to demonetise of high value currency, leading to the poor and middle-class suffering. Keeping in view of coming elections, the BJP government intentionally blocked the Rs 2,000 notes due to which the bank officials are unable to deposit the money in the ATMs, he said.
Many people are still facing a lot of problem with ATM not dispensing cash. The banks are paying cash to customers in small denominations because high value currency notes are not being supplied to them. He demanded that the BJP government solve the problem immediately by providing high value currency notes to the banks.
CPI-M party leaders Y Vikrma, B Upendra Naik, N Ramesh, K Guru Murthy, Bheemaiah and S K Bibi along with the representatives of DYFI Ch Bhadram, B Venkat Kumar and Rajesh were present.
