Ensure potable water to every village: Nalgonda Collector

​Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal on Tuesday directed the officials of RWS to visit every village in the district and submit a detailed status report to him to ensure that there is no water scarcity during summer.

He was holding a review meeting at his camp office in Nalgonda. Addressing the officials, he directed the officials to supply water by tankers wherever necessary. He asked the officials to utilise the emergency funds allotted by the 14th Financial Commission to gram panchayats. 

He advised the officials concerned to use gram panchayath funds for repair of borewells and motors to ease water scarcity in rural areas. Instructing  RWS officials to prepare an action plan on water supply to villages, he asked them to focus on Devarakonda, Damercharla, Gurrampodu, Tipparthi, Nampally mandals  where groundwater table plummeted during summer. RWS EE Papa Rao and Divisional Engineers were present at the meeting.
