Advocates demand allotment of land for court complex in Mahbubnagar
Mahbubnagar: Advocates in Mahbubnagar staged a protest on Thursday, demanding that the one-acre land in which the MRO office of Mahbubnagar urban is located be handed over to the District Legal Department for the construction of additional court complex in the district.
The Revenue officials are now staging a counter protest. The Revenue officials insisted that the land should not be given to the Legal Department.
In fact, the court complex which is located in the congested area lacked enough space and there is a need for the expansion of the court halls. As the government has already decided to shift the Revenue office and the District Collectorate to some other place, the district administration is considering holding talks with all parties to settle the issue amicably.
As the Revenue and District Collectorate are shifted to some other place, it is proper to transfer the one-acre MRO office to the judiciary. In fact the proposal to transfer the land was mooted way back when K Chandrashekar Rao was MP of Mahabubnagar.
It was almost seven years since the issue was left unresolved. “The Revenue officials are playing double game, they did not protest during when the government decided to shift the district collectorate and revenue office, but now when the advocates are demanding that the land be handed over to the MRO office, they are playing a spoilsport.
