Rising summer temperatures in Khammam

Khammam: The erstwhile Khammam district recorded 40 degrees Celsius during the last week.This year during the beginning of summer, temperatures have started to soar in many parts of the erstwhile Khammam district such as Madhira, Sattupalli, Kothagudem, Yellandu, Bhadrachalam, Manuguru and Khammam city. Many areas are also facing acute drinking water scarcity.

Maximum temperature on Wednesday breached 40 degree Celsius in Khammam city. It was 4 degree Celsius more than the temperature recorded on Monday. The minimum temperature recorded was 28 degree Celsius.  

The vendors selling lemon juice, coconut water and watermelon did brisk business. With uninterrupted power supply being assured, the people feel greatly relieved.  

With the Meteorological Department forecasting that the maximum temperature in coming up days may go up to 40 degree Celsius mark by the end of March, the district administration is taking all measures to ensure safety of citizens.
