30 new agriculture markets to come up in Telangana

 Khammam: The State government is planning to issue notification for establishment of 30 new Agricultural Markets across the State, according to official sources. As the part of the plan, the Director of the State Marketing Department Lakshmi Bhai visited Khammam district recently to identify land for the new Agriculture Market.

Accompanied by the District Officer of Marketing Department Santosh Kumar, she inspected the government land at Muddulapalli village under Palair constituency and identified 18 acres of land in the survey number 90.

It is to be noted that the Muddulapalli is the village that is adopted by the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmi Bhai said the government is planning to establish about 30 agricultural markets across the State for the convenience of the farmers. Apart from it, the government is also trying to convert the warehouses in districts into agriculture markets.

Efforts are on to identify the warehouses that are constructed in scientific manner in districts, so that they can be converted into agriculture markets with ease, she added.

After inspecting the land at the wholesale fruit market in Khammam city, she said the government has also proposals to establish model fruit markets in district headquarters.
