CCTV cameras installed in Athmakur mandal
Yadadri- Bhongir: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bagwath here on Tuesday said one CCTV camera can do the work of hundred police personnel.The Police Commissioner inaugurated 109 CCTV cameras in Athmakur (M) mandal in the district.
Government Whip Gongidi Sunitha also participated in the programme.Speaking on the occasion, Bagwat expressed his happiness over people contributing Rs 14 lakh for installing 109 CCTV cameras in 11 villages in the mandal.
Athmakur stood in second position under Rachakonda Police Commissionerate jurisdiction, he said. He suggested that the officials make efforts to instal CCTV cameras in the remaining villages too.After installing CCTV cameras in other parts of Yadadri district, crime rate has come down considerably, he said.
Government whip and Aler MLA Gongidi Sunitha stated that Rachakonda Commissionerate stood top in the State in curbing crime, whereas Athmakur (M) stood second in the district in establishing CCTV cameras in the interest of people.
Now, the women can move confidently with CCTV cameras keeping tabs on antisocial elements, she added
In the programme, Bhongir DCP Ramchandra Reddy, Joint Collector Ravi Naik, Choutuppal ACP Ramesh, Ramannapet CI Srinivas, MPP Bagya Sri, Tahsildar Narsimha, MPDO Ambabai and others participated.
