Jagjivan Ram birth anniversary celebrated

Nalgonda: The birth anniversary celebrations of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram were held on a grand scale in Nalgonda, Yadadri and Suryapet districts on Thursday.

Collectors of the three districts Gaurav Uppal, Surendra Mohan and Anitha Ramachandran along with respective district officials and public representatives garlanded the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram and paid tributes to the veteran leader.

Speaking on this occasion, the officials, public representatives, SC organisation leaders described Jagjivan Ram as a great leader. They lauded his contributions to the nation by overcoming the hurdles in his life, his efforts towards the welfare of SCs are appreciable, speakers said.

In Nalgonda, addressing the gathering, district Collector Gaurav Uppal stated that present generation should know the life history and ideology of Babu Jagjivan Ram and listed out the various government schemes introduced for the welfare of Dalits.

The Collector promised to establish a separate cell to address the issues of atrocity cases on SCs and STs.Superintendent of Police Ranganath warned that stringent action would be taken against persons, who try to grab the lands of SCs.
 
In Nalgonda, TSFDC chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Joint Collector Ravinaik, district library chairman Rekala badradri, ZP CEO Hanuma Naik, DRO Kheemya naik, ICDS regional coordinator Male Sharnya Reddy, SC organisations leaders Borra Sudhakar, Nune Venkataswamy, Teegala Ratnam , Paladugu Nagarjun, Islvath Ramchandra Naik, Baki Papaiah , local councilors and peoples representatives of various parties were participated.

In Bhongir, District Collector Anitha Ramachandran, MLA Shekar Reddy, MLC Krishna Reddy, Joint Collector Ravi naik, State Warehouse Corporation Chairman Sameul, Municipal Chairperson Lavanya and others participated.On this occasion, Rs 17 lakhs worth assets distributed to beneficiaries. In Suryapet, District Collector Surendra Mohan along with officials and people’s representatives participated.

Meanwhile, on the way to Miryalaguda Pragathi Sabha Minister for Municipal Administration  K Taraka Rama Rao along with Minster Jagadish Reddy garlanded the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram located at Cherlapally bypass road junction in Nalgonda.
