Foundation laid for overhead water tank
Jadcherla: With an aim to provide permanent solution to the water woes in Jadcherla mandal, foundation stone for an overhead water tank, to be construct at an estimated cost of Rs 49 crores under Mission Bhagiratha was laid by Health Minister C Laxma Reddy on Thursday at APHB colony in Jadcherla.
The overhead water tank with a capacity of 6 lakh litres is designed to provide potable water to each and every household in the mandal.In addition to this, the government is also planning to construct five more similar capacity overhead water tanks in and around Badepally and other parts in Jadcherla mandalwith a capacity of 36 lakh litres.
“In addition to construction of large water holding tanks with large capacities, we are also laying internal water pipeline over more than 175 km in Jadcherla and Badepally to ensure that each and every household gets drinking water,” said the minister.He said already 90 km of major water pipeline works from Srisailam was laid. It is expected that supply of water under Mission Bhagiratha would begin by next week.
