Input subsidy from April 20
Kothagudem: The district administration is busy making arrangements for distribution of cheques under the Rythu Bandhu scheme to the farmers. The aim of the scheme is to provide an annual subsidy of Rs 8,000 per acre to each farmer across the State.
The government hasalready announced the guidelines of the scheme.As per the guidelines,the concerned officials have to prepare the lists of beneficiaries for distribution of cheques to the farmers. According to officials, they are ready for conducting the GramaSabhas for distributing cheques under the scheme.The distribution of would begin on April 20in the district, they said.
The government has sanctioned Rs 45 crore to distribute among 38,875 farmers in the first phase in thdistrict.Theofficials have already submitted a proposal to the government for the sanction of Rs 150 crore todistribute among 1.10 lakh farmers in the district.In all villages in the district,farmers had cultivated different crops 3.25 lakh acres during the Kharif season in the district. Farmers in various villages cultivated paddy cropin 45.124 acres, corn in 6,828 acres andcotton58,059 acres allmandalsin the district.
The officials have chosen the nearest banks in their villages for depositingthe amounts. District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, speaking on this programme, said the cheques would be distributed to the farmers on April 20.Speaking to The Hans India, he said the farmers would be given Rs 4,000 input subsidy for during Kharifseason first, and all preparations were made to distribute chequesamong farmers.
The district officials are making arrangements to deliver cheques at the doorsteps of those farmers who are handicapped and unable to attend Grama Sabha due to illness, he said. As per the guidelines of the scheme, farmers should have Aadhaar card and Pattadarpassbooks to secure input subsidy, he said.
Hanumanthualso said the farmer was required to be present in person to receive the cheque. Agriculture Director Abhimanyudu, speaking to The Hans India, said all arrangements were completed for the distribution of cheques in the district. He also said the staff went to the commissioner’s office for receiving the funds for distribution.
The government was giving input subsidy to all eligible farmers in two sessions,Kharifand Rabi, he said. ASatyanarayana Murthy,a farmer in the district,told The Hans India that the government providing input subsidy was useful for poor farmers in the district. Chief Minister KChandrashekar Raowas implementing several welfare schemes for farmers, he added. Round-the-clock power supply scheme and RaythuBandhuschemescame as a boon for the farmers, he said.
