Congress criticises KCR for not paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar

Khammam: Former Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress party leader V Hanumantha Rao here on Monday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had insulted the Dalits by not paying tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.

Speaking to the media at Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan here, Hanumantha Rao came down heavily on the Chief Minister.

By not paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar and Mahatama Jyotibha Phule, KCR had heaped insults on Dalits in the State, he said. The State was now witnessing family rule. All the members in KCR family were given position in the TRS party. Instead of allotting the Rajya Sabha seat to the mother of Srikantha Chary, who sacrificed his life in separate Telangana movement. 

KCR had nominated one of his family member, he said. He criticised the Chief Minister for his appeal to Telugu-speaking people in Karnataka to defeat the Congress led by Siddaramaiah, a Backward Class leader, he said.

“The people are watching every move of the TRS party and its leaders and are ready to teach a fitting lesson to it,” he said.

Congress party leaders Durga Prasad, N Rambabu, SC Cell Chairman A Jayaraj, Dasari Danial, K Venkat Narayana, V Chandrashekar, K Aadham and Rammurthy, M Srinivas Yadav, M Radha Kishore, V Naramisha Rao, N Deepak Chowdari and Bala Gangadhar Tilak were present.
